DOOTONES – Teller of Fortune / Ay Si Si
USA. 1978 The Dootones were a fairly short lived vocal group put together by the (later) hugely successful songwriter / arranger H.B. Barnum to record for Dootsie Williams’ Dootone Records in 1955. When first formed Barnum’s group still had no name, but as the label owner wanted a group named The Dootones on his label, it was decided that they were to be known as The Dootones.

ROSCO GORDON – Booted / LITTLE WILLIE LITTLEFIELD – Ain’t a Better StoryTold.
UK. 1981. Great double sided 50’s Blues / R&B reissue. Rosco Gordon’s 1951 recording of ‘Booted’ was very influential in The West Indies where it inspired many early Ska / Bluebeat artists such as Prince Buster. Little Willie Littlefield’s great 1950 duet with Little Laura Wiggins is top class early jump blues!
