A message from Ted:
I commenced collecting records seriously in May 1968. At that time it was usually possible to pick up previously owned records from junk shops for 5p or occasionally 10p [for something very special]. At these prices, it was easy to acquire a dozen or more 45s at a time (12” singles did not exist until about 7 years later).
Good Rock’n’Roll or Soul records even then were hard to find, so whenever I came across some gem (say a Chuck Berry 7”, especially on the London label), I would have to buy it, even if I already possessed another copy. At that time condition was just as important as it is now, so I focused mainly on records that had not been played to death.
This passion for collecting records continued over the years, especially during the period Rock On Records was buying and selling records in London from 1971 until 1996. But the story doesn’t end there, Rock On Records opened its current shop in 2023 and you can visit us at 4 All Saints Street in Stamford PE92PA, Lincolnshire. As a director of Ace Records, I had the privilege of visiting the USA many times between 1970 and 2006 and purchased thousands of records often direct from the manufacturers’ warehouses. I also made trips to Portugal, Malta, Ireland and Gibraltar to hoover up thousands more collectible 45s.
Our Stamford shop contains a vast selection of vinyl but we also have in excess of 60,000 more records in specialised storage facilities so if you are looking for something special or rare, please contact us. Due to the size of the Rock On Records overall collection, we cannot promise rapid replies as the filing system in our storage units could only be described as chaotic, but we will try to respond to most enquiries with 14 working days. You can submit a request on this page: rockonrecords.com/contact

Quality is of extreme importance and the bulk of our records are unplayed and in mint or near mint condition. In some cases there is some minor wear and tear on record sleeves which we would indicate.
We will be adding more records here on the website on a regular basis so come back and visit the website often.
For those interested in visiting our shop in Stamford, you can click on the zoom button (top right) of any photo above to open a full screen slideshow and browse some of the categories of records on sale at Rock On Records. You will find many unusual titles at Rock On, as we always focus on stocking unusual titles and artists.
