These 4 tracks were recorded at Escape studios in Kent during the same sessions that resulted in the first Motorhead album ‘Motorhead’ in 1977. Three years later following several huge hit singles and albums, Chiswick in agreement with Motorhead, released the remaining 4 tracks from the Escape sessions to create this EP.
All records in this section are mint & unplayed. Nearly all of our records are hard to find in this “as new” condition, most of them have been locked away in a specialised storage facility since the ROCK ON shop in Camden Town closed in 1996.

UK 1985. POGUE MAHONE bassist CAIT O’RIORDAN aka MARLEEN O’ DIRTRAC (the sultry, seductive, chanteuse moonlighting with PRIDE OF THE CROSS) is featured on ‘Tommy’s Blue Valentine’ c/w ‘Black Coffee’ released by Ace Records in 1985 (Big Beat NS106). The “A” side, written and produced by ex-Rock On [Soho] assistant manager, Phil Gaston is a paean to everyone’s favourite vocalist that year, Tom Waites and the cover pix and design were by another Rock On staffer Dee O’Mahoney. The entire enterprise was curated by Radiator from Space, Phil Chevron.
Pride of the Cross were Straight out of the Kings Cross scene and the band in addition to Marleen, included guitarist Darryl Hunt, (later to replace Cait as The Pogues’ bassist) June Miles-Kingston, (the Mo-Dettes drummer) Dave Scott (guitarist from Athletico Spizz 80 and Spizzenergi) as well as Paul Taylor on trombone.
